  • Nagpur's Reliance Aerostructure plant will evolve into Dassault’s inaugural Center of Excellence abroad.
  • The venture aligns with the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat agendas, promising a surge in aerospace manufacturing and employment.

Detailed Insights

On 18 June 2025, Dassault Aviation and Reliance Aerostructure Limited announced a new production hub at Nagpur, Maharashtra. The site will conduct final assembly of Falcon 2000 jets, along with front-section assembly for Falcon 6X and Falcon 8X, and assembly of wings and fuselage for the 2000 series. This marks the first time the iconic business jet is manufactured outside France.

Dassault Reliance Aerospace Ltd. (DRAL), a joint venture, will become Dassault’s first Center of Excellence beyond France. DRAL has already supplied over 100 sub-assemblies since 2019 and is slated for significant upgrades at its Nagpur facility to accommodate the new production line.

Strategically, the partnership places India as the fifth country worldwide capable of high-end business jet production, reinforcing PM Modi’s vision of a global manufacturing hub and opening avenues for corporate and charter aviation demand within India.

Economically, hundreds of engineering and technical roles will be created, expanding precision-manufacturing skills and attracting foreign direct investment to the defence and aviation sectors.
